Ascorbic acid – no problem with Combur-Test
It is known that vitamin C (ascorbic acid) can prevent the oxidation reaction on the test areas for blood and glucose on urine test strips to cause false-negative test results.
Combur-Test urine test strips from Roche Diagnostics are protected against this interference by iodate. Thus, even high concentrations of ascorbic acid have practically no influence on the test result for blood and glucose.
Clear, Hygienic Reading
Reading of reagent pads is always clear and convenient, thanks to the precise, vertical colour scale on the vial label, which exactly matches the reaction colours on the test strip pads. Fingers stay clean because the strip is read vertically.
Reading Convenience
All reagent pads may be read between one and two minutes after dipping this eliminates potential errors and improves accuracy. Colour reactions develop rapidly and in parallel, so timing is less critical than with conventional test strips.
